Biography
Internationally renowned, award-winning Belgian cinematographer/filmmaker Bruno Nuytten first earned critical acclaim for his work on Blier's Going Places (1974). Nuytten learned his craft with distinguished lighting directors Ghislain Cloquet and Ricardo Aronovich. In 1988, he wowed the world with his auspicious directorial debut, Camille Claudel, a film that earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Film and five Césars. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
Camille Claudel which was Nuytten's first directorial and screenwriting effort, won the César Award for Best film in 1989. The movie starred and was co-produced by Isabelle Adjani, with whom he produced a son, Barnabé.
His sophomore directorial effort, Albert Souffre, though also a heavily emotional movie, was set in contemporary times.[1]
