Wikipedia: Bruno Peyron
Orange II

Bruno Peyron (born November 10, 1955) is a French yachtsman who, along with his crew on the catamaran Orange II, broke the outright round-the-world sailing record in March 2005. He was the first winner of the Jules Verne Trophy in 1994, for completing a round-the-world trip in under 80 days. Peyron, from the French Atlantic coast city of La Baule, has spent a lifetime perfecting his racing skills. He has been one of the main organisers behind the round-the-world-race The Race.

Orange II is a 36.8 m (121 ft) catamaran, with a crew of 13, which completed the 27,000-nautical-mile (50,000 km) circumnavigation in 50 days 16 hours 20 minutes, crossing the finish line near the island of Ouessant off France's west coast at 3:23 a.m. local time on March 16, 2005.
