Biography

Slight, squeaky-voiced American actor Buddy Gorman was able to play juvenile roles well into his 30s. Gorman was generally seen as a newsboy, caddy or telegram messenger. He appeared in a remarkable number of musicals (though he never sang), including Higher and Higher (1943), Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), Jolson Story (1946) and It's a Great Feeling (1949). Buddy Gorman is best remembered today for his 19 appearances in the East Side Kids and Bowery Boys films, wherein he was usually cast as "Butch." ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
