The Buddy is a motorscooter produced in Taiwan and distributed in the United States by Genuine Scooters of Chicago, Illinois. The Buddy is the most popular scooter sold by Genuine and is sold in 150 of its dealerships throughout the country.[1]
The standard Buddy features a 2 stroke (50cc) or a 4 stroke (125cc) air cooled engine with automatic (CVT) transmission. The braking system consists of front disc and rear drum brakes and the top speeds for the 50cc is 30mph (restricted) and 60+ for the 125cc.[2]
In 2006, Genuine Scooters partnered with PGO Scooters of Taiwan to produce the Buddy. PGO also manufactures other models for Genuine.
