Biography

Burial Hordes are a Greek black metal band inspired by misanthropic predecessors such as Cadaver, Carpathian Forest, Aura Noir, and early-day Mayhem. Begun in 2001 by vocalist NightSpirit, guitarist Necrotormentor, and guitarist/programmer Adrahil, the project soon added bassist Psychaos and drummer Erevos for early demos Entering the Untrodden Forest (2001) and Mors Luminis (2003) -- both of which were pressed on cassette in a limited number of 666 copies (of course). Come 2004, new bandmembers vocalist Cthonos and drummer Impaler (of Enshadowed and Merciless Crucifixion) joined in time for a split with Eschaton, followed two years later by Burial Hordes' debut full-length, War, Revenge and Total Annihilation. And then, in late 2008, Burial Hordes unleashed their second blasphemous incantation, entitled Devotion to Unholy Creed, through Singapore's Pulverised Records, thus spreading their black gospel ever farther across the globe. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
