Joan Lougheed, a former Burlington city councillor, is a Founding Director of the Sound of Music Festival Inc.

Voted one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario, Burlington’s Sound of Music Festival is one of the summer’s most sought after shows. Featuring a unique blend of new and emerging artists, Canadian icons of the past, and fan favourites on several stages along our beautiful waterfront and downtown. [1]

The 2007 festival will help celebrate 60th Anniversary of the Burlington Teen Tour Band, Canada's oldest youth marching band. Celebrations, including a homecoming reunion, a concert and participation in the parade, are being planned to mark this anniversary. More information is available at the BTTB Alumni Web page.

The festival's mascot is Mr. Treble.
