Burnett Mattinson (May 13, 1945) is an American Story Supervisor, Animator, Director and Producer for Walt Disney Animation Studios. He is well known for working on The Fox and the Hound, Mickey's Christmas Carol, The Great Mouse Detective and The Lion King. He also worked as animator on The Jungle Book, Robin Hood, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. His first job as writer was on The Rescuers in which he was also the Title Designer.
Biography
Burny Mattinson started his career in 1967 at Walt Disney Feature Animation as an uncredited story artist on the The Jungle Book, he then worked as character animator on Robin Hood and as animator on Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. He latter worked as wrote the story on The Rescuers and The Fox and the Hound. In 1983 he wrote and directed Mickey's Christmas Carol, in 1985 he worked as writer on The Black Cauldron and in 1986 he directed and wrote his first feature film, The Great Mouse Detective. He also partisipated in the Disney Renaissance and worked on Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan and Tarzan. After 1999 he disappared from the movie credits but he appared in Disney documenturys intlle 2007 when he appared as under additional story in How to Hook Up Your Home Theater. He is currently working as Story Supervisor on the upcoming film Winnie the Pooh.
