Calixto Garcia is a municipality in the Holguín Province of Cuba. The municipal seat is located in the town of Buenaventura.
The municipality was named for Calixto García e Iñiguez, an independence war hero.

In 2004, the municipality of Calixto Garcia had a population of 57,867.[2] With a total area of 617 km2 (238.2 sq mi),[1] it has a population density of 93.8/km² (242.9/sq mi).
