Canada: Maple Leaf Flag Adopted

Feb 15, 1965. The new Canadian national flag was raised at Ottawa, Canada’s capital, on this day. The red-and-white flag with a red maple leaf in the center replaced the Red Ensign flag, which had the British Union Jack in the upper left-hand corner.
