Canadian equivalent of the U.S. Postal Service with similar rules for consolidating, packaging, sacking, and labeling various classes of mail. Details on Canadian mail preparation requirements are given in the canadian national distribution guide. As in the United States, both Second and Third class mail may be presorted to similar package and sack consolidation levels, including directs, city, distribution center facility, forward consolidation point, province, and mixed province. Canadian package facing slips and sack tags are orange for second class and green for Third class. Sacks must weigh at least 20 pounds to qualify for a postage discount. If there are six pieces of Second class mail, or 10 pieces of Third class mail, for a consolidation level they each must be packaged together. Mail destined for Canada that is mailed from the U.S. Must be labeled with the entry point city, a contents identifier such as 2C, 3C, or news (for second class, third class, or news value, respectively), and a routing code that is determined by the entry point city and the destination city.
