Canis ambrusteri
Canis ambrusteri is one of the most recent evolutionary ancestors to the wolf. During the mid-pleistocene, in North America, Canis ambrusteri appears and is probably found in the whole continent. It then leaves and goes to South America where it becomes the ancestor of the Dire Wolf.
