Cape Cod Community College, known locally as "4-C's", is a two-year community college located in West Barnstable, Massachusetts. Cape Cod Community College was established in 1961, the second institution to open as part of what is now a 15 community college system in Massachusetts. It awards Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees and various academic certificates in a wide variety of programs. The college offers access to on-campus Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in partnership with: Bridgewater State College, Boston University, Lesley University, Salem State College, Suffolk University, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth, and Wheelock College.

The college recently opened the Lyndon P. Lorusso Applied Technology Building, a state-of-the-art Gold LEED-certified facility completed in summer 2006. It was built in keeping with the College's commitment to environmental sustainability and is the state's first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified "green-building" ever built with state dollars.

In 2006, the college sought to build a dormitory that would house 200 students since a number of students can spend more than an hour each day commuting to school.[1] The idea went nowhere, although there are rumors that there will be dorms built soon. This rumor also is present with another rumor that the school will turn into the University of Massachusetts Cape Cod.

Notable alumni

  • Dana Mohler-Faria, President, Bridgewater State College
  • Christopher Rodriguez, Associate Director of the National Hurricane Center, Chief Naming Officer for Hurricanes and Tropical storms for the last seven years
