US Government Guide:

Capitol Historical Society

In 1962 Representative Fred Schwengel (Republican-lowa) founded the U.S. Capitol Historical Society to promote greater public awareness of the history of Congress and the Capitol building. This not-for-profit membership organization raises funds largely through the sales of its guidebook, We, the People, and other Congress-related publications and memorabilia at a gift stand in the Capitol.
