Plot

This edited version of Cardcaptor Sakura aired on the WB in 2000. The series splices together and eliminates completely some episodes from the original series about a ten-year-old girl named Sakura who accidentally unleashes the magical Clow Cards and must retrieve them to save the world from destruction. This adaptation eliminates the affectionate material between characters in an attempt to create a more action-oriented show for boys. Also, this version was believed to be pleasing to some conservative parents who might find strong relationships between same-gendered characters on the show to be implicit of inappropriate subtext.
