Biography

Dutch DJ, remixer, and producer Carlo Resoort, aka 4 Strings, achieved his first British hit in 1999 with "Turn It Around" by Alena. Formerly known as Taska, Topcat, Square, and Carlos, he chose the moniker of 4 Strings before releasing "Day Time," a club/dance song with lyrics by Rob Davis and performed by Arianne Schreiber. "(Take Me Away) Into the Night" became his second smash. Originally released by Liquid Records, it was re-released by the U.K.-based label Nebula and featured on Paul Van Dyk's mix album The Politics of Dancing, among other compilations. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide

Wikipedia: Carlo Resoort

Carlo Resoort (who founded the musical group 4 Strings), born March 1 1973, is a Dutch DJ, remixer and producer.

Music career

Carlo Resoort originally began working with Jan De Vos when they found a mutual interest in dance music. The two spent all of their free time in the studio, and later Jan went on to become "DJ 4 Strings" while Carlo headed 4 Strings. All of his albums as 4 Strings have been released in the U.S. via Ultra Records.

Carlo had his first hit with "Turn It Around", and later released "Take Me Away (Into the Night)" his second hit. They had an amount of success, having been in charts in several European countries and also Canada. Success in the United States of America has been limited to this point and they have only charted on the U.S., Dance Radio Airplay, Hot Dance Singles Sales, and Rhythmic Top 40 chart.

4 Strings currently consists of Carlo Resoort (who mostly creates the music) and Jan Loechel (who mostly works on production and arrangement, and performs some songs) and various guest artists on vocals. In 2004, rumours surfaced of singer Vanessa van Hemert leaving the group, due to some new 4 Strings songs that were released which did not feature her. Although Resoort originally debunked the rumours, by the following year, van Hemert did leave the group.

While Jan De Vos isn't actually a part of 4 Strings, he took up the name DJ 4 Strings and does all live performances in place of the actual group.
