During the '70s, she acted in a few films and in 1971 published the autobiographical W.C. Fields and Me. In 1976, Valerie Perrine played Monti in the film version of the book. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Carlotta Monti (20 January 1907 – 8 December 1993) was a minor film actress known primarily as the mistress of W. C. Fields.

Born Carlotta Montijo, Monti appeared in B-movies like Kiss of Araby (1933), Tarzan the Fearless (1933) and Night Cargo (1936), usually cast as an exotic temptress. She met Fields in 1932 and their relationship lasted until his death in 1946. She had small roles in his films Man on the Flying Trapeze (1935) and Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (1941).

Monti's best-selling memoir published in 1971 described her life and experiences with Fields. It was adapted for the 1976 film W.C. Fields and Me, starring Rod Steiger as Fields and Valerie Perrine as Monti, who appeared as an extra in it.
