Biography
French model/actress Carole Bouquet studied philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris before making her film debut in Luis Buñuel's That Obscure Object of Desire. In a role shared with Ángela Molina, she played Conchita, the title character who so intrigues leading man Fernando Rey. The next year she appeared in Bertrand Blier's black comedy Buffet Froid (Cold Cuts), starring Gérard Depardieu. Mostly acting in her native France, North American audiences may remember her as Bond Girl Melina Havelock in For Your Eyes Only. In 1990, she won a César for Best Actress as the scorned wife in Blier's Trop Belle Pour Toi (Too Beautiful for You). Throughout the '90s, she was a spokesmodel for Chanel No. 5 perfume and appeared in numerous French films, including Michel Blanc's Grosse Fatigue (Dead Tired) as a parody of herself. Carole Bouquet (born 18 August 1957) is a French actress and fashion model, who has appeared in more than 40 films since 1977. Bouquet was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.
She is best known internationally for her role as Bond girlMelina Havelock in the 1981 movie For Your Eyes Only, but she also acted in a number of mainstream European films throughout the 1980s and continues to do so in France.
Bouquet was a model for Chanel in the 1990s. She is the widow of producer Jean-Pierre Rassam with whom she had a son, Dimitri Rassam. From 1997 to 2005, she dated actor Gérard Depardieu, with whom she had worked several times. Bouquet was engaged to him from 2003 to 2005.
