Game Description
High speed "magnetic levitation" is considered by some train designers to represent the future of passenger rail transportation. Developed by Abacus, Casino Express "Maglev 2005", an expansion add-on for the Microsoft Train Simulator, brings the vision to life with a proposed route connecting the desert surroundings of Barstow, California to the glitter of Las Vegas, Nevada. Casino Express features tracks designed specifically to accommodate the 300mph speeds of three trains: Casino Express, SunSet Limited, and Malicki. Once in Las Vegas, players are treated to views of the major hotels and casinos along the famous strip.MagLev trains are typically ten cars in length and cannot be uncoupled during gameplay. The derail feature of Microsoft Train Simulator must be turned off when using Casino Express, since the trains do not derail in a conventional manner. The route in Casino Express actually runs from Barstow to Las Vegas, with a stopover at Primm, Nevada, but four basic activities are provided that include combinations of the three locations. Active components in the MagLev cab include the clock, speed indicator, throttle, reverser and emergency brake. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
