Categories (Katēgoriai, Lat. Categoriae, ‘predicates’), one of the six logical works which comprise Aristotle's Organon (see ARISTOTLE 4 (i)), a treatise on the ten different types of predicate, or classes, into which the attributes of things (e.g. their substance or their size) may be divided.
