Caterham on the Hill is a civil parish in Tandridge Borough Council in Surrey. It has a population of 11,555.[1] The parish council clerk is Helen Broughton.[2]
Caterham on the Hill is part of caterham. The Caterham Barracks Trust[3] which now own the site of the former Caterham Barracks Guards Depot is sited there. The former Guard's chapel now houses an indoor Skate park [4].
The former Battle of Britain airfield RAF Kenley is approximately one mile away.
Facts
Terry Waite [5] and David Sterling[6] (the founder of the SAS) trained at the barracks.
A number of films / TV series were fully or partially filmed at the barracks. They were not divided filmed by the Two cities Film Company [7] and invasion earth[8] series filmed by the BBC.
Joey Deacon lived at the St. Lawrences hospital. The hosptial is now used now for the NHS direct service.
It has its own hospital, the Caterham Dene [9].
