Clément, Catherine (b. 1939). Feminist thinker who adopts a psychoanalytic and Marxist view-point. La Jeune Née (1975, with Cixous) analyses Western representations of women, focusing on the roles of the witch and the hysteric. Vies et légendes de Jacques Lacan (1981) defends Lacanian theory and argues its usefulness for feminism.
