CBS Eblana is a shortened form of the full school name: Christian Brothers School (CBS) Eblana Avenue, located in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Ireland, and was a secondary and primary school located in Eblana Avenue from 1857 until 1992. It closed due to lack of pupils most likely caused by a population shift to the outlying area of Monkstown, Loughlinstown, Shankill, etc. The school operated as the sole Christian Brothers school in Dun Laoghaire until 1951 when the school was split into two, the public and free CBS Eblana whilst the Brothers established C.B.C. Monkstown as a private, fee-paying school in their own grounds in Monkstown. Since the mid 1990s, the CBS grounds have been used as a youth hostel.[1]
The building is currently used by Senior College Dún Laoghaire
