Cenél nEógain

Wikipedia: Cenél nEógain

Cenél nEógain (in English, Cenel Eogan) is the name of the "kindred" or descendants of Eógan mac Néill , son of Niall Noígiallach who founded the kingdom of Tír Eógain in the 5th century. It comprises much of what is now County Tyrone, as well as parts of counties Londonderry, Donegal, Fermanagh, Monaghan and Armagh.

In 1020 the Cenél nEógain were driven across Sliab Fuait by the high-king Máel Sechnaill mac Domnaill.[1]
