Central Park South is the section of 59th Street in the borough of Manhattan, New York City that lies along the southern end of Central Park. It is bounded by Columbus Circle at Eighth Avenue on the west and Grand Army Plaza at Fifth Avenue on the east. Entry into Central Park is provided at Scholars Gate at Fifth Avenue, Artists Gate at Sixth, Artisans Gate at Seventh, and Merchants Gate at Eighth Avenue. The eastern part of the street is a favorite place for horse cabs to pick up tourists for a short tour of the park.[1]

Central Park South contains several famous upscale hotels, including the Ritz-Carlton (Central Park) and the Plaza Hotel.
