centrality

The degree to which the spatial position of a team member occupies the centre of the team formation. It is argued that central positions (such as quarter back in American football or sweeper in soccer) are more highly interactive than those on the periphery or those in positions that have independent tasks. A high proportion of managers and coaches are recruited from players of central positions.
