Centroscyllium (Müller & Henle, 1841) is the genus name for a group of big-eyed deepwater dogfishes with no anal fin, a grey or black-brown body, and dorsal spines, with the second one being much larger
than the first. There are seven extant species.

- Black dogfish, Centroscyllium fabricii (Reinhardt, 1825).
- Granular dogfish, Centroscyllium granulatum Günther, 1887.
- Bareskin dogfish, Centroscyllium kamoharai Abe, 1966.
- Combtooth dogfish, Centroscyllium nigrum (de Buen, 1959).
- Ornate dogfish, Centroscyllium ornatum (Alcock, 1889).
- Whitefin dogfish, Centroscyllium ritteri Jordan & Fowler, 1903.
