Biography

Formed in 1998, Champale plays laid-back chamber pop with flavors of roots rock and good old-fashioned indie rock. The group was originally a trio consisting of singer/songwriter/guitarist Mark Rozzo, bassist David Voigt, and Luna's drummer extraordinaire Lee Wall. The trio grew quite a bit by adding David Knowles (trumpet), Andrew Innes (saxophone), Jason Glasser (cello and violin), Erin Elstner (vibraphone sounds), and eventually Ira Elliot (from Nada Surf), took over at the drum kit.
