Championship Baseball

Games: Championship Baseball

Game Description

Developed by Activision's Gamestar in 1986, Championship Baseball has you managing and playing America's favorite National Pastime with a variety of unique options.

You begin by drafting a team from a pool of talented players (no actual Major League teams are licensed). Next, you select your batting order for maximum strategy. Choose a division for your team. There's even a practice mode to help hone your skills before testing your prowess. Twenty-four teams in all four divisions will race for the pennant. It's up to you to control all the action of pitching, batting, hitting, catching, outfield relays, base running, throwing and sliding.

Other features like "Pre-Game Ceremonies" let you learn how to draft a roster and fill out your line-up card. "League Play" explains how divisions, play-offs, and Championship Series are organized. "Batter up!" leads you through fundamentals in order to fine-tune your skills in hitting, baserunning, pitching, fielding, and throwing. And last but not least, "Going to the Bench" describes how to make the most out of your decision-making with a bit of advice.

Also, with two player head-to-head split-screen action, Championship Baseball will have you slugging out of the park. On the left you get the whole view with a topside perspective while on the right it's behind the batter.
