Chancheng District (Chinese: 禅城区; Pinyin: Chánchéng Qū) is a district under the administration of Foshan city, in Guangdong province of the People's Republic of China. Geographically, it lies at the center of Foshan, surrounded on the east, west, and north sides by Nanhai District and bordered to the south by Shunde District. The district is also the political center of the city, containing the city government. The economic and cultural center of Foshan is here as well. The total area of the district is 154.68 square kilometers, and its population is 960,000 people (counting frequent residents). The district lies on relatively flat land.
