(b Wycomb, c 1560; d Wooton St Lawrence, 28/9 March 1647). English musician. After a classical education at Oxford (BA 1583, MA 1587), he was vicar of Wooton St Lawrence until he died. His Principles of Musik (1636), a basic instruction manual with a discourse on music's role in sacred and secular life, is a valuable document of the period.
