Charles Dunstone (born 21 November 1964) is the CEO and (with David Ross[1]) co-founder, in 1989, of mobile phone retailer The Carphone Warehouse.

He was born in Saffron Walden, Essex, and educated at Uppingham School. In the Sunday Times Rich List 2006 he was listed in 64th place, with an estimated fortune of $1.66 billion.

The Carphone Warehouse

Known as "The Phone House" outside the UK and Éire, CPW was founded by Dunstone and David Ross in 1989. With £6,000 savings, they embarked on a scheme to sell car phones from their flat in London. Within 20 years - in October 2007 - the company joined the FTSE 100 Index of leading shares. The company dropped out again 12 months later following a 76% fall in the share price.
