Luxembourg, Charles-François-Frédéric de Montmorency-Luxembourg, maréchal-duc de (1702-64). Distinguished soldier. He and the maréchale (the former duchesse de Boufflers), were J.-J. Rousseau's protectors after his quarrel with Madame d' Épinay.
