Biography

Syracuse University graduate Charles H. Joffe gained his show business reputation as a talent agent, in association with Jack Rollins. During the 1960s, Joffe's clientele included such specialized comedians as Woody Allen and Dick Cavett; some have credited him with helping to define Allen's and Cavett's distinctive on-stage personalities. Maintaining his professional association with Allen into the 1990s, Joffe has served as producer or executive producer on virtually every one of Allen's film projects, from Don't Drink the Water (1968) to Mighty Aphrodite (1995). Charles H. Joffe's handful of non-Woody Allen assignments include the 1981 Dudley Moore starrer Arthur (1981) and his executive-producer chores during the first season of TV's Cheers. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
