Charles McRae was a former offensive tackle drafted in the first round of the 1991 NFL Draft out of the University of Tennessee by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was the first offensive player selected. In 71 games with the Bucs, McRae started 38 at right tackle and left guard before finishing his carrier with Oakland.

Charles married Joanna Lee Erwin on June 22, 1991 and have four children; Joseph Connor McRae ('95), Isla McRae ('97), Charles Iain McRae ('99) and Sean McRae ('01).

Charles returned to the University of Tennessee in 2001 and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in December 2002. Charles was chosen to be the first Administrator for Vista Radiology, PC in March 2003, a position he still holds in addition to Chief Manager of Integrated Practice Services, LLC. In addition to working and playing with his four children, McRae is a licensed pilot, gardner, boater, and outdoorsman.
