Cherokee High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school, one of four high schools of the Lenape Regional High School District in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The communities in the district are Evesham Township, Medford Lakes, Medford Township, Mount Laurel Township, Shamong Township, Southampton Township, Tabernacle Township and Woodland Township.[4] Cherokee serves students from Evesham Township.[5]

Most of Cherokee's students come from either Frances S. DeMasi Middle School or Marlton Middle School, which are parts of the Evesham Township School District, located in Evesham Township, New Jersey (commonly referred to as Marlton), a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Some students also come from the local Catholic school, St. Joan of Arc.

The school was known as simply Cherokee High School until the addition of the "south" building in 2001. The original building was then renamed "Cherokee High School North."

As of the 2006-07 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,619 students and 192 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis, for a student–teacher ratio of 13.6.[1]

The school was featured in the MTV show High School Stories telling about a senior prank of hosting a cookoff in the faculty parking lot on the last day of school. The prank caused the school to close early for the day. The 2004 senior class set this prank up and started to block the parking lot at 2am that day.[citation needed]

The school was the 152nd-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2008 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. The school was ranked 131st in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.[6]
