China Electronics Corporation (CEC) Holdings Company manufactures mobile handsets, as well as MP3 players and other portable electronics for customers throughout Asia and Europe. Philips was CEC's top customer for handsets; in 2007 the Dutch giant sold its mobile phone business to CEC. The Chinese company received a five-year license to market and sell Philips-branded phones. CEC is majority controlled by China Electronics Corp., a state-owned group of the same name under the auspices of the Chinese government.
