China Enterprises Limited (known in Hong Kong as China Tire Holdings) wanted to put the brake on its image as a holding company for tire manufacturers and pump up its look as an e-commerce tire vendor. The Internet business didn't work out, however. It also briefly dabbled in the travel business. China Enterprises makes and distributes tires (bias and radial) for motor vehicles, aircraft, and bicycles through its joint ventures based in the US, the British Virgin Islands, and Hong Kong. Chairman and CEO Allan Yap owns more than half of China Enterprises through Hanny Holdings Limited. The company was founded in 1993.
