China North East Petroleum Holdings is engaged in the extraction and production of crude oil in a region of Northern China. Its current operations are focused on four oilfields located in China's Jilin province, where it operates about 250 producing wells. It operates in tandem with oil giant PetroChina to exploit a number of 20-year leases held by PetroChina. China North East Petroleum Holdings has proved reserves of approximately 5.5 million barrels of crude oil equivalent. Large-scale commercial drilling at the Jilin Quinan Oil Field started in 1986. The company also has exclusive exploration and drilling rights to the Durimu oilfield in Inner Mongolia.
