Chinatown is located in Community District 3

Chinatown is bordered by the Lower East Side to the northeast, Little Italy to the northwest, and the Financial District to the south.

The Manhattan Bridge connects Manhattan and Brooklyn, at Canal Street in Chinatown (on the Manhattan side) and the Flatbush Avenue Extension, in the DUMBO neighborhood (on the Brooklyn side). DUMBO is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.

Chinatown is bordered by three neighborhoods: Little Italy to the west, the Lower East Side to the north, and City Hall and the courthouses to the south.
