Chontla in Veracruz, Mexico. It is located in the north of the State of Veracruz, about 220 km from state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 361.09 km2. It is located at 21°18′N 97°55′W / 21.3°N 97.917°W.
The municipality of Chontla is delimited to the west by Tantoyuca, to the south by Ixcatepec and Tepetzintla, to the east by Citlaltepec and Ozuluama. [1]
It produces principally maize, beans and chili pepper.
In Chontla, in november takes place the celebration in honor to Santa Catarina.
The weather in Chontla is extremely warm all year with rains in summer.
