Review
Choro is not a major part of the contemporary scene, but this old brass-band-plus-guitars and percussion tradition, which is sometimes compared to and certainly influenced by jazz, lies at the heart of Brazilian urban music. While it has its own repertoire, modern choro is a branch of the general popular scene, light, mellow, elegant and fairly undemanding. This set is typical heartland choro, with an easy charm enlivened by fine soloing and a feeling of good-tempered ease. ~ John Storm Roberts, All Music GuideTracks
