Choshi, Chiba
Chōshi (銚子市; -shi) is a city located on the Pacific Ocean in Chiba, Japan. It is the easternmost city in the Greater Tokyo Area.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 76,628 and the density of 915.62 persons per km². The total area is 83.69 km².
The city was founded on February 11, 1933.
Transportation
Choshi Station is the eastern terminus of the Sobu Main Line to Chiba City and Tokyo. The Choshi Electric Railway Line connects Choshi Station to Tokawa Station at the city's southeastern edge.
Tourist attractions
Choshi is home to Inubohsaki lighthouse, completed in 1874 by Scotsman Richard Henry Brunton.
