Biography

Chris Lemmon is the son of actors Jack Lemmon and Cynthia Stone. Slightly handsomer than his dad, but possessed of the same distinctive high-pitched laugh, Lemmon began his own film career in 1976. The bulk of his film work has been in comedies, ranging from the witty Seems Like Old Times (1979) to the half-witty The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood (1980). Chris Lemmon has been most active on series television: he went the raunchy-teen route as "Checko" on the frathouse sitcom Brothers and Sister (1979), was featured as Jeff Cameron on Knot's Landing, posed as a "roving reporter" on the daytime game show Fantasy (1982), played neurotic yuppie Richard Phillips on Fox's Duet (1987) and its spin-off Open House (1989), and co-starred with Hulk Hogan on the syndicated Thunder in Paradise (1994). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

History

Lemmon was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of actress Cynthia Stone and actor Jack Lemmon.[1] With a natural talent for music, he was encouraged by his father to study piano. Lemmon considered playing piano professionally after having graduated from the California Institute of the Arts, with degrees in classical piano and composition, and in theater. He appeared as an actor in numerous stage productions, including the west-coast tour of "Barefoot In The Park", directed by the late Jerry Paris, the original West coast production of "Shay" by Anne Commire, and A. R. Gurney's "Love Letters" with Stephanie Zimbalist. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Richard Phillips in the two television situation comedies, Duet (1987) and Open House (1989), and as Martin "Bru" Brubaker in the TV-Series Thunder in Paradise, also featuring Hulk Hogan. Lemmon is also a screenwriter and producer.[2] In 2006, Algonquin Books published Lemmon's tribute to his father, entitled A Twist of Lemmon, which was re-released in 2008 as a paperback by Applause Theatre and Cinema Books.

Lemmon is married to actress Gina Raymond and resides in Connecticut. He and his wife have three children, Sydney Noel, Chris Jr. and Jonathan.

He has starred in three films with his legendary father Jack Lemmon: Airport '77 in 1977, That's Life! in 1986 and Dad in 1989.

Lemmon will star in the upcoming film Publicity Stunt, a comedy which he co-wrote, to be shot in Connecticut and directed by Joel Zwick, who also directed My Big Fat Greek Wedding. [3][4]
