Biography

Chris Welch has been a well-known music journalist in the U.K. since the mid-'60s, when as a writer for Melody Maker, he was one of the first of the younger and more aware rock writers to make a name in the British press. He has written numerous rock biographies that do a straightforward job without getting extremely in-depth, including books on Steve Winwood, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Tina Turner and Def Leppard. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
