Biography

Christopher Stone's movie career got off on the right foot with his portrayal of pandering rock singer Jay Rigney in 1970's Grasshopper. Later that same year, Stone was cast a "swinging" doctor Pooch Hardin on the short-lived TV series The Interns. While he never quite attained the upper reaches of stardom, Stone has been steadily employed in Hollywood for the past quarter century, most often as a TV-series regular on such weeklies as Spencer's Pilots (1976), Harper Valley PTA (1981) and Dallas (1984-85 season only, as Dave Stratton). Christopher Stone is married to actress Dee Wallace Stone, with whom he appeared in the theatrical features Cujo and The Howling, and in the 1989 syndicated TVer The New Lassie. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Christopher Stone (October 4, 1942 – October 20, 1995) was an American actor.

A general purpose actor on film and television from the early 1970s, he married actress Dee Wallace in 1980. Together, they appeared in a number of films including the classic horror films The Howling (1981) and Cujo (1983). They also shared top billing in the family series The New Lassie (1989), in which he served sometimes as director.

In the 1970-1971 season, Stone co-starred with Broderick Crawford, Mike Farrell, and Skip Homeier in the CBS medical drama The Interns, based on a film of the same title. Stone played Dr. Jim "Pooch" Hardin; Crawford was cast as the crusty hospital administrator; Farrell was Dr. Sam Marsh, and Homeier portrayed Dr. Hugh Jacoby. The Interns aired twenty-four episodes.[1]

Stone also co-starred as Cass Garrett in the CBS series, Spencer's Pilots, which aired only six episodes from September 17 to November 19, 1976. Gene Evans starred as Spencer Parish, the owner of Spencer Aviation, a charter pilot service.[2] He also guess-starred in the Galactica 1980 episode "Galactica Discovers Earth", and the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century episode "Space Vampire".

He played Vietnam veteran Colonel Martin James "Bo-Dai Thung" Veedor in the 1984 Airwolf episode "And They Are Us" in which Archangel sends Hawke and Santini to a small African nation to protect their president during a military coup. Hawke discovers the leader behind the coup is a rogue colonel his brother St. John served with in Vietnam. Hawke goes against Archangel's orders to stay with the president, and plans to capture and extract information from the colonel. But first, he must get past a fleet of helicopter gunships.

Stone died of a heart attack in Los Angeles, California in 1995 at the age of 53.
