Ciao (ちゃお Chao) is a Japanese shōjo manga magazine published by Shogakukan for young girls (about 9–13 years old). The first issue was launched in 1977. As of 2007, the circulation was 982,834.[1] Formerly, the magazine attached paper crafts, but now attaches various goods (cosmetics, watches, pencils, notebooks, etc.) that are different every month. The magazine's competitors are Ribon and Nakayoshi.
