Review

Eardrum is a collaborative side project featuring Lou Cicotelli (formerly of Pram/Laika) and producer Richard Baker. Two tracks on offer here, mostly lo-fi drum cut-ups and perhaps a bit on the "but it doesn't go anywhere!" side of things, but eminently listenable nonetheless (particularly through headphones). Also useful as a minute-or-two diversion for DJs, with gritty bassy tones and quiet details that sound better the louder they're played. In addition to "Circulate," the group also contributed an exclusive to Virgin's second volume of the Macro Dub Infection series. ~ Sean Cooper, All Music Guide
