Character Bio
ORIGIN: Though Matt Hagen's origin as Clayface differs strongly in the comic book world, his role in video games only pertains to the Batman animated series. Matt Hagen was a successful actor until he was badly disfigured in an automobile accident. In an attempt to "help" him, crooked businessman Roland Dagget stepped in, offering a new miracle drug called RenuYou. The drug, not approved by the FDA, miraculously restored Hagen to feeling better than he ever had before. But there was one problem. The drug was highly addictive.Soon, Dagget cut off Hagen's supply, forcing him to perform crimes for him. When Hagen refused, Dagget's henchmen doused the actor in a flood of RenuYou with the intention of killing him. The result, however, was something entirely different -- Clayface. Now a hideous mess of pure clay, Hagen discovered his new power to shapeshift into anything he desired. Using this power to his advantage, he began a life of crime.
