Ile-de-France has a temperate climate for the most part, with rare extreme temperatures or high winds. July and August are the hottest months, with average highs of 78°F. January and February are the coldest, with average lows of 32°F. Of course, these are just averages. It’s not uncommon to have a few days in the low 90s or high 50s in the summer, or a light snow during the winter. Paris tends to be a bit warmer than Ile-de-France, especially in the summer. The traditional rainy season is late spring, with another peak in October, but almost every year over the past decade has been an “exception” to this rule. It’s always best to check multiple forecasts before packing, and remember the traveler’s mantra: layer, layer, layer...
TIP:To convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, see the conversion chart on or just remember that (°Cx 1.8) + 32 = °F, so 20°C= 68°F.
