BACKGROUND PERSONALITY: Although he rarely admits it, Cloud is often quite withdrawn and introspective. He knows that there is a lot that he does not understand about himself, and this causes him to be irritable at times, and sometimes even to snap at friends. Toward the beginning of his work as an AVALANCHE mercenary, he also has a very large ego pertaining to his skills and his past with SOLDIER. He changes for the better once he realizes that there are bigger problems than himself to deal with.
ORIGIN: When he was 16 years old, Cloud dreamt of joining the Shinra army to become just like his idol, Sephiroth. However, his hometown of Nibelheim would later be burned to the ground by the one he so admired, who destroyed everyone in sight. Cloud and his friend Zack were captured by Hojo and tested in Mako tanks to see if they were of the right stature to become members of SOLDIER. As the tests continued, the two orchestrated their escape with the utensils they used to eat their daily meals, escaping to Midgar. After years of working as a mercenary, Cloud joined up with the rebel faction known as AVALANCHE to fight against Shinra.
